3Com announces new supply chain chief
3Com has appointed a new supply chain management chief as it looks to build on its expansion in the Far East.
Tony Wang, who will join 3Com from Nortel, and will act as the company’s vice president, worldwide supply chain.
3Com recently signalled its intentions to grow its Chinese market by appointing a new CEO for China and, in keeping with this move, Wang will be based in Hangzhou.
One of the big challenges facing Wang will be to integrate the company’s two supply chains – one in China and the other in the US – into a single global organisation to deliver enterprise products.
3Com hopes the move will help the company reduce costs and improve its operational efficiency.
