Wal-Mart looks for intelligence in risky business
Wal-Mart has agreed a deal with US intelligence firm Strategic Forecasting Inc. in an attempt to identify the main risks to the company’s supply chain.
The Supply Risk Monitoring (SRM) service will focus on countries involved in Wal-Mart’s global supply chain and will be used to assess a range of factors, from crime and terrorism to the political and regulatory environment.
A grading system of high, medium or low risk will indicate the threat posed to company by any given aspect of its supply chain infrastructure in any location.
