Francois-Xavier Terny - Lowenthalmasai

Francois-Xavier Terny - Lowenthalmasai Following his studies at HEC, François-Xavier Terny began his professional career in 1991 as a strategic consultant with Bain & Company.

During his 5 years with Bain & Co., there were 2 prevailing trends: international assignments, with one year spent between the Moscow and Warsaw offices (1993) and creation of the South African office (1995), and purchasing. It was during the numerous purchasing assignments (sheer luck in strategic consultancy!) that the idea for Masaï was born. Discussions with his friend Thierry Fournier, a Manager within Bain & Co., gave life to the project in March 1996.

Masaï was created in 1996 as a consultancy specialising in cost optimisation. Since its creation, the focus hasn't changed : boost corporations' performance by optimizing their costs, delivering tangible and measurable results obtained on the ground with our client's operational teams whilst putting in place the conditions for sustainable performance.

Masaï enjoyed a rapid growth, obviously addressing a growing concern within corporations for cost control, cost efficiency and cost optimisation. To date, 8 consulting offices in Europe, US and Japan, and 7 LCC offices, with a total of over 120 professionals, serve worldwide clients of all industries on complex, often technical, always challenging cost optimisation issues - as professional as the best-in-class consultants, but a different entrepreneurial touch and a lot of pragmatism.
Masaï was acquired by Lowendal group in October 2006, and is now the Strategic Sourcing business of the newly named LowendalMasai group.

At the root of the Masai Sourcing LCC network and an active contributor to the international development of Masaï, François-Xavier Terny has always been keen on multi-cultural, multi time zones projects - often combining the complexity of worldwide team management with a taste for creating new methodologies, new approaches to the ever-evolving issues clients are facing in cost management.

He is passionate about cars and race car driving, a wine enthusiast with a particular taste for Languedoc wines, and a seasoned traveller.
