Bravo to electronic buying
The UK government buying department, the Office of Government Commerce, has saved £270m over a three year period by using e-procurement technology.
The huge cash saving has been spread across more than 100 UK public sector organisations and has engaged more than 2,500 buyers and 75,000 suppliers on UK government contracts worth over £20bn. On top of this, BravoSolution, which provides the technology for OGCbuying.solutions eSourcing Managed Service, claims that the system has resulted in saving an estimated 53 million pieces of paper from being printed.
Robert Knapman, Head of eCommerce for OGCbuying.solutions, said, “The success of the eSourcing Managed Service demonstrates how effective framework agreements can be in giving public sector organisations access to products and services quickly and effectively.
