Supply chain fears force Tesco recall
Tesco has recalled a "significant number" of its own-brand canned beans and sausages in a move that is likely to act as a wake-up call to the company's supply chain. The products were found to contain pieces of plastic from the company's production line in Italy.
The move comes as the firm faces fresh accusations of child labour being employed by its suppliers in Asia.
According to a report by The Times, pressure group War on Want is preparing to present a report at the company's Annual General Meeting, which alleges that Tesco buys clothes from a factory in Bangalore that pays workers less than £7 a week.
