Sourcing changes put Whirlpool in a spin
Whirlpool has announced the appointment of a new sourcing chief, following the retirement of long-serving Mark Brown.
Brown, who had been with the appliance specialist for 35 years, will be replaced by John Miller, who will assume the role of senior vice president, Global Strategic Sourcing, from November 1.
Miller will join the Michigan-based concern from Nissan North America, where he served as vice president, purchasing, North American Operations.
He will now report to David Szczupak, the company’s executive vice president, Global Product Organisation.
“John has an outstanding background directing global sourcing organisations and multi-billion buys within the automotive industry and technology sector,” he said.
"He has held leadership positions in some of the world's most highly regarded procurement operations, and his experience optimising worldwide supply chains and developing cost knowledge will be extremely beneficial to our company as we work to leverage sourcing on a global scale."
